The Manvers Township Historical Society has been collecting artifacts for years and would very much like to share these items on a more permanent basis to the public. The display area for collected Manvers Artifacts is now open at the Bethany Library, 1474 Hwy 7A, Bethany, Ontario. The display is open during regular Bethany Library operating hours. This project is on going and display are changed every couple of months. Please visit often. We are continually adding to the collection so if you have artifacts from Manvers and wish to donate or loan to the Historical Society, please contact the Research Centre or email manvershistory@gmail.com.
In 2020, work commenced on a new book entitled “Janetville Reflections”.
A new project for 2025 for the Society is to feature Century Farms in Manvers. Do you live on one, do you know about one? Our definition is that the descendants of one family lived on the property for 100 years or more. We are looking for current century farms or past farms that reached the century status but is currently owned outside of the family. We still want to feature these farms. To contact the Society, you can reach out on Facebook, contact a Society member or email manvershistory@gmail.com
The Historical Society needs your help. Tell us about your Manvers memories and stories. Did you grow up in Manvers? The Manvers Township Historical Society wants to hear your story(ies) and your memories about the community to be preserved for future generations. If you want to share a story you can submit it by email to manvershistory.ca or deliver a hard copy to the Research Centre (Old Bethany Post Office) Tuesday or Thursday 2 to 4 or to any member of the Historical Society.
It is the intent to collect the stories and publish them in the newsletter or possibly consolidate them into a book.
