Manvers Station
Manvers Station was established in 1884 when the Canadian Pacific Railway constructed a combined Station and dwelling. Manvers Station is located just east of Porter Road and north of the Pontypool Road. It also had a general store, saw mill, Orange Lodge and Burke’s Pond and summer resort was close by. Names from this area included Thompson, Boggs, Barnicutt, Patton, Forsyth, Preston, Fallis, McMaster, Argue, Johnston, Cremar, Hutchinson, Cavano, Thorndyke, Armstrong, Sommerville, Clark, Kellet, Leach, Porteous, Porter, Bradley, Logan, Lowery and Eakins.
