Janetville is located around the 13th Concession of Manvers south of Hwy 7A west. This community was formed a little earlier than Bethany in the first half of the 1800’s with names including – Burns, Irwin, McGill, Armstrong and Johnston, McDermid, Timmins, and Sherritt.
Occupations of the area included – grocer, boot and shoe dealer, mill operator, sawyer, carpenter, carriage maker, blacksmith, millwright, merchant, physician and surgeon.
Today, there is an active hamlet population with the Church and general store, ballfield and park.
